💉 The Peptide Gold Rush... With a Catch
If the internet promises a miracle injection that melts fat, rebuilds joints, sharpens your brain, and makes you feel 25 again... it's probably time to put your credit card back in your wallet.
The peptide craze is booming, but separating breakthrough science from expensive wishful thinking has never been more important.
Most important reality check: Health Canada has issued a strong warning against injectable peptides sold online for anti-aging, muscle growth, recovery, or "wellness."
Products like BPC-157, TB-500, CJC-1295, Ipamorelin, MOTS-C, Epitalon, NAD+, Retatrutide and others may look legitimate, but many are unauthorized, untested, and could contain the wrong ingredients - or contaminants you definitely didn't order.
The agency recommends buying prescription medications only through licensed pharmacies and avoiding products labeled "For Research Use Only," which are not approved for human use.
You can read the full safety alert here.
Most balanced take on the peptide revolution: Ironically, peptides themselves aren't the villain.
A comprehensive scientific review highlights why researchers are so excited about them in the first place.
FDA-approved peptide drugs have already transformed obesity and diabetes care, while investigational peptides are being studied for tissue repair, cognitive health, skin regeneration, muscle recovery, and other aspects of healthy aging.
The catch?
Outside a handful of approved therapies, most longevity peptides still lack large clinical trials and long-term safety data, meaning promising biology shouldn't be mistaken for proven medicine.
The review we found does an excellent job explaining where the science is genuinely exciting - and where caution is still warranted.
And finally...
Longevity isn't about chasing every shiny molecule that pops up on social media.
The future of healthy aging will almost certainly include peptide therapies: but only the ones that survive rigorous clinical testing.
Until then, the smartest biohack remains surprisingly boring: exercise consistently, eat well, sleep enough, and let evidence (not influencers) guide your decisions.
After all, the goal isn't to be the first person to try tomorrow's miracle treatment... it's to still be healthy enough to benefit from it when it actually becomes one.
